Woodstock is a big, agricultural, spread-out town, and the excavation work reflects that. Between East Woodstock, Woodstock Valley, South Woodstock, West Woodstock, and North Woodstock you are mostly dealing with acreage — open hayfield, old stone walls, hedgerow, and second-growth woods — rather than compact subdivisions. Projects here tend to start further back from the road and involve more clearing, more grading, and more distance between the house and everything that serves it.

That distance matters more than people expect. When the well is a hundred feet from the house and the septic is somewhere else again, every trench is longer, every line has to be laid and bedded correctly over that run, and access for the equipment has to be planned before the first bucket goes in the ground. We plan for that instead of pretending it will not happen, and we look at a property in the context of how it drains, not just how it looks.
